Hello, as you can propbably tell, I'm Hannah, am in the North of England, (The wet and cold part). I have only had my corn for 3 years and only because I rescued him/her (sorry don't know which it is yet) from an ex boyfriend who wasn't keeping it properly. Luckily it wasn't very old and didn't have a problem getting things back to normal. I have however become quite attached, did all I could to learn stuff to keep Nake happy and so far not a problem. Unfortunatly I'm now hooked! Shrimply, notice you have a boa? Saw one in the shop last year and fell in love so I'm really looking into getting one this year and wondered if you'd let me know how keeping a boa is going and what you think the good or bad things to do are.

Hi welcome to the board. We all get hooked so I wouldn't worry about that lol.
Gald you rescued the snake and hope you will post some pics up soon.
As for the boa. At the minute I really can't fault him he is so much easier to handle than the two corns and you can just sit with him for hours in the evening watching telly. AS long as he is warm he will just stay wrapped round your wrist.
However there are a few problems. The first is he hisses when he is in shed which is a lot more scary than the sort of thing a corn snake does. It doesn't bother me now but I hope he grows out of it.
Second problem is keeping the humidity up at first I was using a spary bottle but it took so long I have started using a small length of hose a misting the viv with that.
I think the real problem always has to be the size with the minimum being about 8ft long it is a big snake to look after and house. Can you deal with the possibility of it needing to eat rabbits or guinea pigs. Can you provide the minimum of a 6ft by 2ft vivarium. Which means having one built specially built or building it yourself. And can you find some one to take care of it if your away.
It takes a lot of thinking about but in my opinion it is worth it he is a great little( at the moment) snake. Any questions you have feel free to ask away.
