My viv's (main lot) are made from old ikea wardrobes, each is 8 foot long, by 25 inches front to back and 21 inches high. They have dividers in them as you can see so the top stack has 3 equal sized Viv's in it, the middle stack is an 8 foot long viv (for my big boa) or i can add a divider to make 2 4 foot viv's, and the bottom stack is a 2foot, and a 6foot viv, the 2 foot viv is for my female corn when gravid, and the 6 foot viv is for my other boa. Just imagine what you could do next time you want a new peace of furniture?

I should add that those pic's are old and was when i was setting up the Viv's, the wiring is now tidy and out the way and every viv has a light and guard (the light and guard on the same day, the wiring once id finished sorting the stats out the day after)

They all look great, I really need to get another couple of 4ft by 2ft by 2fts I wonder if I could get something that size and then completely halve them. Its at times like this I curse the size of my bedroom or I could just get and 8ft and stick a divider in.

lol, why not go for a 6foot long, 2 1/2 wide and 2 foot tall viv and use a separator? If it'll fit that is, as that way you could always add another on top of the first 1 later on as the snake collection grows, not giving you idea's or anything , lol. I've still got 1 empty viv and some eggs due any day now, i might be tempted to keep a pair for the empty viv ;D.

Sadly a 6ft won't fit at the minute. My plan is that if I get another 2 4fts then that will keep every body happy for a good long time. Both the corns will be fine for life and the boa should be comfortable for a good while. Eventually I will have to get a 6ft built but unless my dad hurries up and gets the last of the loft space converted into a new bedroom I have a feeling the viv will have to be shaped to fit the sloped roof and that won't be cheap. After that though I will have a free viv, perfect size for a jungle carpet python.
I am off to ikea tomorrow but with my luck they won't have anything a decent shape. Just been through the Argos catalog looking for something but all their units are funny sizes.

my local focus had a nice drawer unit in which would have made 2 stacked 3 foot long viv's, by about 20 wide and 21 high, just a shame it wasn't a little cheaper as i don't really want to pay £90 to convert it into a viv, been £50 or less it would have been a bargain, especially as you need to get the glass doors and the runners.
